Rhizo Community

Thank you for the interest in joining our community and building Rhizo together.

There are many ways in which you can contribute, ranging from sharing your thoughts, helping with the design or code, to even simply hanging out.

Rhizo is a community software project

That means we prioritise community over software, or that the software project itself is an emergent product of the community.

To start with, we are adopting the community software principles. This page and project is expected to change and grow over time as the community does, and different needs or situations appear.

Conduct Norms

In order for rhizo to be considered a community software project, it must create a safe environment for collaboration. This can only happen if every community member plays a part in fostering the welfare of everyone involved.

An environment where people can openly contribute and grow must be one that encourages taking emotional risks without fear.

We can only achieve a diverse and inclusive community through empathy. We ask you to empathise, to try to understand, show compassion, kindness and respect when interacting with others. We are aware that it is impossible to live through someone else’s experiences, but that does not absolve one from just simply listening.

To keep the community tolerant, we do not tolerate intolerance.

Ground rules

  1. You are not welcome in the community, and we are not interested in any type of contribution from you if you are a bigot of any kind.

If you are or identify yourself with one or more of the following: fascist, transphobe, homophobe, supremacist, misogynist, patriarchist, racist, ableist, capitalist, harraser or abuser. You are not welcome in the community. This list is not exhaustive.

  2. We do not accept any contributions (code, writings, designs, etc.) created with the aid of so-called “generative AI” technology.

One of our community principles is from the people, to the people. We want to work with people who also care about what they do, and celebrate the uniquely human. We value original thinking and human interactions and see the community as a place for mutual support, growth and learning; LLMs are the antithesis of this.

More specifically (as adopted from Zig’s Code of Conduct):

    • No LLM-generated content, whether it be code or prose.
    • No paraphrasing LLM-generated content.
    • No LLMs for editing, including fixing spelling or grammatical errors.
    • No LLMs for translation. English is encouraged, but not required. You are welcome to post in your native language and rely on others to have their own translation tools of choice to interpret your words.
    • No LLMs for brainstorming and then sharing the results of that brainstorming, even if you create the prose.
    • No LLMs for finding bugs.
    • No talking about use of chatbot/LLM services.
